There was a shock among the friends circle when Megha divorced Vasudev. They were the cutest couple among our friends, and we got down on ourselves when we learned the extent of the cruelty he'd done to Megha, whom we had always addressed as a lovebird. Be observant

The nature of people in toxic relationships is to put blame on others and play victim where the one who suffers the most will be gas lighted by the other. So take a deep breath, take some time to examine yourself, and find out if anything has been done wrong.

Explore other people's viewpoints

It is paramount that you speak to someone whom you can trust; one who can listen to you completely and can provide you with an honest answer because at times another person may have a more clear perspective.

Get away from being attacked

Leaving the conversation is the best option if you are attacked verbally, mentally, or emotionally. Stop letting them take advantage of you. Make sure they speak to you nicely, and don't accept anything less. In such a situation, there is a possibility of being brutally beaten if they can't respect you. End the conversation as soon as possible and better get out of the situation.

Maintain a calm attitude

Don't let their emotion overwhelm you. Being defensive is easy to do since you want to defend yourself. However, this just plays into their hands, so keep your cool.

Avoid being gas lighted

Make sure you keep a record of what they tell you and what they do. In situations where they deny things to make you look insane, show them your record.

Provide treatment suggestions

 People with emotional instability sometimes do not recover on their own. They should probably see a trained therapist or psychologist who can possibly help them.

Even if you've tried your best to make a relationship with someone who is emotionally unstable work, sometimes it's a better idea to end the relationship and look for someone who is in a better position to make the relationship work.
